Arts Infusion:
Enhancing the Capacity of Educators to
Engage their Students in the Process of Learning
For Elementary and Middle School Educators
Arts Infusion is a five-part, arts-integrated and arts learning professional development workshop designed to assist teachers to refine their ability to use the arts to teach multiple subjects, as well as deepen their understanding of the arts in general. Topics include Exploration of Narrative, Performer Effectiveness, and Analysis of Text, Music, and Visual Images.
This year’s Arts Infusion Professional Development will focus on integrating 21st century skills into the achievement goals of educators in the greater DC Metropolitan area with a focus on English Language, Arts and Social Studies curricula. These skills include, but are not limited to, innovation, self-direction, team work, creativity, problem solving, design, use of imagery, and productive imagination. Instructors will come from ASCD, Washington National Opera, American University, the Smithsonian, and other educational organizations.
Graduate credit through The Catholic University of America is available for an additional fee.
Note: Participation in the Opera Look-In program is not required to attend this professional development series.
