Denyce Graves is known throughout the world for her portrayal of the gypsy Carmen. Torn between his obsession with Carmen and his love for Micaëla, Don José is hurled into a dangerous world of gypsies, bullfighting, and lawlessness. When Carmen abandons him for the alluring toreador Escamillo, their fates are sealed. From the steamy Habañera to the fiery choruses, conductor Julius Rudel and director David Gately fill the opera house with the passion and seduction of Carmen.
