VOLUNTEER
PROGRAM
Volunteers are an essential part of the Washington National
Opera and play a vital role by helping to increase financial
support, reducing costs, and providing skilled assistance.
Volunteers use their talents and special interests in the
opera year round. Some contribute to special events, educational
projects, artist hospitality, public relations, and assist
in different capacities at the opera's new rehearsal facility,
costume studio, and education center. Others help by working
in various offices taking on diverse assignments such as data
entry, word processing, answering telephones, translating,
and other tasks.
Opportunities for volunteer service with the Washington National
Opera vary throughout the year, and from season to season.
Appropriate training is given for agreed-upon assignments.
Successful volunteer work is based on mutual respect and understanding
between staff and volunteers.
For information about becoming a volunteer for the Washington
National Opera, please contact Jackie Rosen at (202) 295-2484
